Chris was born July 17, 1924 in Schuler, Alberta. His family moved to Medicine Hat and he attended Elm Street and Alexandra Junior High Schools. He enlisted in the army in 1941 and took his training in Hamilton, Ontario. Chris was shipped to England, trained as a Motor Mechanic and served in the 4th Armoured Regiment in Europe. After the war, he worked in Toronto for many years. He came back to Medicine Hat to spend his retirement years. Chris passed away on November 2, 2015. He was predeceased by his wife, Irene, in August 1991. He leaves to mourn his passing his daughter, Shirley Beadle and Granddaughter, Victoria Weekes in Ontario, and his best friend and loving companion, Esme Crowther. Chris will be remembered by his friends as a kind, caring, generous gentleman who loved children and animals, especially dogs. He loved to work in the yard, tinker in the garage, read, and travel, especially to Hawaii. Chris was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch #17 and the Veiner Centre where he enjoyed time with his buddies. We would like to thank the staff at the Masterpiece for the excellent care and loving ways they took care of Chris during his illness. A memorial service will be held a later date.
