It is with profound sadness that the family of Robert Allan Nieman announce his passing at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Friday, January 1, 2016, at the age of 68 years. Bob was surrounded by family and so much love as he began his new journey. Bob was predeceased by his father, Elmer (2009); mother, Madge (2015); brother, Larry (1975) and his wife, Carole Don (2005). Bob is survived by his children, Stacy Jussila (Nadine), Jodie Groves and her children, Rylund, Brooklyn, Treydon; Mike Nieman (Debbie) and family, Cody, Kyle, Daytona; Taylor, Karder; Pat Nieman and family. Also surviving Bob are his sister, Debbie Carlin (Brian); nieces, Tamara, Jillaine and families; brother, David (Rita) and nephews, Brent, Blair & families. Robert Allan was born August 13, 1947, in Medicine Hat. Bob was a good friend to so many people, he would start a conversation with anyone. He had a generous and kind heart and was always willing to help. Bob loved all animals especially dogs. His day was occupied by long and faithful walks with his dog, Samson, stopping to talk to neighbours and friends along the way with dog treats always in his pocket. Bob’s faith and beliefs in God were the foundation of his life. His schedule was full of commitments to his church and his fellowship. Family, friends, and church were the priorities in his life. We were not ready to say our good byes, but have comfort knowing Bob is with the Lord and those he loved and those who have gone before him. Special thank you to ICU staff for their great care and compassion. The Funeral Service for Bob will be celebrated at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Monday, January 11, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Steve Zinger officiating.
