Edward “Ed” Plante, beloved husband of Jo Plante of Medicine Hat, passed away on Thursday, February 11th, 2016 at the age of 79 years. Ed also leaves to cherish his memory his two sons, Darryl (Roxanne) Plante and Tery Plante; one daughter, Pamela Plante (Jay Fode); six grandchildren, Jacey, Shaylon, Boyd (Gabby), Kenedi, Landon and Kyle; four great-grandchildren, Sylver, Chazdynn, Brooklyn and Dylan; one brother, Larry (Peggy) Plante; two sisters, Mary Ellen (Armand) Corbiell and Carolyn Plante; two sisters-in-law, Rita (Willie) Dick and Linda Lucey; brother-in-law, Denis (Colleen) Lucey; his favourite buddy, Trigger; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Ed was predeceased by his parents, Amie and Jean Plante; two sisters-in-law, Mary (Fred) Kukura and Theresa (Loris) Fowler; and brother-in-law, John Lucey. Ed was born in Gleichen, Alberta, the second son of Amie and Jean Plante on March 23rd, 1936. He was employed with Colpays, Wilson Motors, Goodyear and Gardner Motors. He married Jo Lucey on November 4th, 1961 in Acadia Valley, Alberta. He enjoyed playing hockey, baseball, camping and fishing at Rattle Snake Lake. Ed’s memory will be forever cherished and lovingly remembered by his family and friends. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, on Tuesday from 12:00 until 12:55 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, on Tuesday, February 16th, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with Deacon Robert Risling officiating.     Plant Family, Plse accept my prayers and condolences.
    Ed was a great guy, had the opportunity to referee with him as well as work at Goodyear- plus a few pints at the Westlander inn and remember his drinking tricks Great guy- God Bless

    Jo and Family So sorry to hear of the loss of Ed. He was a great friend’ had a lot of fun when we worked together at Gardner Motors. Lots of great memories he will never be forgotten.
