1948 ~ 2016

Mrs. Joan Leonora Peterson, beloved wife of Len Peterson, passed away peacefully at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Sunday, April 3, 2016, at the age of 67 years. Along with Len, Joan leaves to cherish her memory three daughters, Gina (Neil) Powell of Lethbridge, Dana (Kent) Hunter of Edmonton and Susan (Greg) Bishop of Brisbane, Australia; step-son, Jesse (Jody) Peterson of Edmonton; twelve grandchildren; two brothers, one sister and numerous in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins and special friends. She was predeceased by her parents, Leo and Linda Gieser. Joan was born in Medicine Hat on August 12, 1948 to proud parents, Leo and Linda Gieser. Joan loved everything that life had to offer. Whether traveling, reading, golfing or ice fishing, she did it with a smile, and that smile was never more evident than when she was in the company of her family! Joan’s family wish to extend their heartfelt appreciation to the many health care professionals who have provided their caring assistance. A Celebration of Joan’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Saturday, April 9, 2016, at 3:00 p.m. with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating. Private Interment will take place at a later date.
