Donald Earl Lay of Medicine Hat, AB passed away on Friday, April 22, 2016 at the age of 84 years. He is survived by: his sons, Terry (Melanie), Brad (Marlene) and Michael (Rebecca); his eight grandchildren; his one great grandchild; his brothers, Dennis (Sharon) Lay and Duane (Bernadette) Lay; and his sisters, Louise (Bill) Pelling, and Audrey Graham. The family would like to thank the many care givers at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital (Palliative Care 6th Floor), the wonderful, caring staff at Covenant Health (St. Joseph’s Home) and especially Dr. Mastel who worked so hard on keeping Dad going so we could enjoy more time with him. There will be a Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 30, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Greig Lake Visitor Centre, Greig Lake, SK. There will be a Graveside Service at the Lay Family Cemetery, Golden Ridge, SK on Monday, May 2, 2016, at 11:00 a.m.
To the Lay boys that I grew up with, Terry, Brad and Mike. So sorry to hear about your dad’s passing. I have great memories of your dad pulling us all around Greig Lake behind his boat! All 10 to 12 at a time ! In recent years I enjoyed our chats at ” the lake” as my grandchildren and I walked by. Sorry I won’t be able to be there for the memorial but will be there in spirit. He will be missed. Donna
