MARY EVA LINKPosted: September 8th, 2016
Mrs. Mary Eva Link passed away peacefully at St. Michael’s Palliative Care, on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 surrounded by her family.
Eva was predeceased by her loving husband Albert Link and is survived by her children Kelly Sharp, Rick (JoAnne) Link, David (Jackie) Link, and Michael (Gisele) Link; grandchildren Shane Sharp, Josh Link, Kelly (Colin Budda-Binder) Link, and Katie Link; as well as brothers Tommy Anderson and family, Danny (Carla) Anderson and family; and sister Bonnie (Butch) Insko and family.
Eva was born in 1938 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. She grew up and attended public school there. She created strong and lasting friendships from her early years. Eva met Albert when she was 17 and was at his side helping him run the family construction business until his passing in 2008. Together, they travelled through Alberta, Saskatchewan and BC, building homes, apartments and other projects.
Eva was involved in many community organizations such as the Paw Society and the local soup kitchen. She was always there to lend a hand to any one in need. She was a proud member of the Christ Trinity Lutheran Church and could often be found helping out at all Church functions.
One of Eva’s great joys in her life was her family. Sunday dinner was served every week at her home and all were welcome. She was always there for anyone who needed an open ear and thoughtful advice. No matter what problem you came to her with, you went away feeling better about the situation. Things that made Eva smile were her love of music, dancing, reading and exercising. When the sun was out, she could be found walking around Henderson Lake, stopping at each and every puppy for a pet.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Mary Eva’s life at 11:00am on Monday, September 12, 2016 at the CHRIST TRINITY LUTHERAN CHURCH, 420 12 St S, Lethbridge, AB, with Pastor Olivier Ravelojaona, officiating.
A Graveside Service will be held at 11:00am on Tuesday, September 13, 2016 at HILLSIDE CEMETERY 1280 10th Avenue SW, Medicine Hat, AB, with Pastor Olivier Ravelojaona officiating.
