It is with great sadness that Wally’s family announces the peaceful passing of a dear husband, father and grandpa on Monday, August 15, 2016, at the age of 75 years. Wally is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Marjorie; children, Shelley (Robert) Clifford; Sherry (Franc) Kiss and their children, Adam and Sara; Sheldon (Shalila) Steinke and their children, Kye and Tilar; Shane (Michelle) Steinke and their son, Curtis. Wally is predeceased by his parents, Albert and Olga Steinke; step-sister, Hilda Klinger and brother, Ernest Steinke. The family would like to especially thank the Cardiac Unit at the Calgary Foothills Hospital as well as the doctors and nurses at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital for their compassion shown towards Wally during his final days. A Celebration honouring Wally will be held at the Wapella School, 610 Qu’Appelle Street, Wapella, SK. on Saturday, September 24, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. (Condolences may be expressed by visiting our website at www.cooksouthland.com) In lieu of flowers if friends so desire, memorial donations may be made to the Wapella Minor Hockey Association.
