1940 ~ 2016

It is with sadness that the family of Stanley Walter Hoffman, beloved husband of Marilyn, announce his passing on Wednesday, September 14, 2016, at the age of 75 years. Stan also leaves to cherish his memory their daughter, Pamela (Thomas) Burke and their children, Braden and Mason and his son, Dean (Marianne) Hoffman as well as numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Stan was predeceased by his parents, Emil and Irene Hoffman. Stan was born on November 24, 1940 in Medicine Hat. He fell in love and married his high school sweetheart, Marilyn, on October 24, 1964. Stan was a hardworking, self employed man who loved the freedom of farm life and working outside doing farm maintenance and helping with the Water Co-op. He was a journeyman RV technician by trade. The industry took them to trade shows in Las Vegas, Hawaii and other places. As a caring, generous, friendly and creative person, Stan was always quick to lend a helping hand to those in need. Stan had quite the sense of humor with his quick wit and “one liners”, especially with his coffee buddies. He was a Moose member and a true Albertan. He enjoyed the little things in life… watching his grandsons play hockey and spending time with family. One of Stan’s most memorable occasions was the Alaskan cruise that he and Marilyn journeyed on and his surprise 70th birthday party. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W. Medicine Hat on Tuesday, September 20, 2016, between 7:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. and on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, starting an hour prior to the service. The service celebrating Stan’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel on Wednesday, September 21, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. with Reverend Jim Bredeson officiating. A time of fellowship and refreshments will follow thereafter in the Cook Southland Reception Facility. If friends so desire, memorial donations in Stan’s name may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Alberta, #124, 430 – 6 Avenue S.E., Medicine Hat, AB.
