KARL (SONNY) HARTMAN
Posted: November 21st, 2016Karl (Sonny) Hartman passed away peacefully at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Thursday, November 17, 2016, at the age of 77 years. Sonny leaves to cherish his memory: two sisters, Tillie Hagel and Betty-Ann (Denis) Lefebvre as well as numerous nieces, nephews and his very special cousin, Bud. He is also survived by two children, Thad Hartman and Marcia (Glen) Blatz; two grandchildren, Blaine and David as well as a sister-in-law, Eileen Hartman. He was predeceased by his parents, Paul and Mary Hartman, brother, Lloyd Hartman and brother-in-law, Simon Hagel. Sonny was born on the family farm West of Lancer, Saskatchewan, on June 26, 1939. In his younger years, he was a Professional Bull Rider and reached the Canadian Finals more than once. Sonny was always an avid outdoorsman, and especially loved hunting and fishing. The memory of his kind and giving nature will live on in the hearts of all who knew him. Private Interment will take place in Lancer, Saskatchewan at a future date.
