Mr. Helmer Ralph Schwartz, beloved husband of Mrs. Joann Schwartz, passed away peacefully at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Wednesday, December 7, 2016, at the age of 78 years. Along with Joann, Helmer will be lovingly remembered by his children, Kalvin Schwartz, Michael Schwartz, Melonie (Travis) Reimer and Steven (Angelica) Schwartz; grandchildren, Tanner (Abby) Reimer, Kaitlin (Ryan) Glass, Mateja and Hudson Schwartz; great-grandchildren, Maci and Gemma Reimer; siblings, Arthur Schwartz, Florabelle (Walter) Senft and Gordon (Frances) Schwartz as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Helmer was predeceased by his parents, Alex and Reil and his brothers, Wilfred and Raymond. The Celebration of Helmer’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Tuesday, December 13, 2016, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Roland Schlenker officiating. My condolances to you and your family on Helmer’s passing. I learned of this last week through Donna ( Priebe ) Lange.
I know that mom was very close to both of you when she lived in Swift Current, and often spoke of Helmer’s teasing. She also had a very soft place in her heart for Melanie.
You probably are aware that mom passed away Dec. 2013 at the age of 99 here in NB. She was very well until 2 weeks before she died.
