Dennillia “Nellie” Sehn Deis Bischoff of Medicine Hat, passed away on Monday, February 13th, 2017 at the age of 100 years. Nellie leaves to cherish her memory five daughters, Marie (Reno) Fleck Sr., Annette (Ralph) Nadeau, Lorraine Kuhn, Bettyann (Garry) Bishoff and Corrine Bischoff (Dimitrios Roussos); twenty grandchildren; forty-two great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; three brothers, Frank Sehn, Gabe (Jo) Sehn and John Sehn; six sisters-in-law, Rose Deis, Annie Deis, Victoria Deis, Mae Deis, Mag Bischoff, and Doris Blaquiere; two brothers-in-law, Jack Kuntz and Ron Bell; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Nellie was predeceased by her first husband, Anton “Tony” Deis; her second husband, Peter Bischoff; two sons, Tom Deis and Tony Deis, his wife, Marilyn and their three children; son-in-law, Irwin Kuhn; three additional grandchildren; one great great granddaughter; her parents, Gabriel and Armalia Sehn; seven brothers, Eligor, Ben, Adam, Exi, Peter, Toney, and Conrad; her brother, Valentine and her sister, Salamae, both as young children. Nellie was born on October 2nd, 1916 at Fox Valley, Saskatchewan and was raised in a home with ten brothers. She received her education northwest of Fox Valley. On November 15th, 1937, she married Tony Deis in Fox Valley. They continued to farm there until 1945 and then relocated to Nesbitt, Manitoba. On June 3rd, 1953 Tony passed away and in the fall of that year Nellie and her family moved to Medicine Hat. It was here that she married Peter. They made their home in Crescent Heights until 1992 and then she moved to Riverside. Nellie loved her family and enjoyed dancing, knitting, quilting, crocheting, crafts, and gardening. She was a great giver of her time and talents but on her terms. Nellie was an active member of St. Joseph’s Home Auxiliary and the St. Pat’s Quilting Club. She was also a member of the Veiner Centre. Nellie was very content and happy residing at the Riverview Care Center for the last three years and was given wonderful care by the staff. Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Thursday, March 2nd, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at ST. PATRICK’S ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 238 – 2nd Avenue NE, on Friday, March 3rd, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Tomy Manjaly, Celebrant. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. Memorial gifts in Nellie’s memory may be made to the Margery E.     So sorry to hear about your Mom. Only saw the Obituary this morning unfortunately. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. She did have a wonderful, full life and left your family with many cherished memories. Sorry we can’t be there today.
