Alice Wahl of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Emil Wahl, passed away on Friday, December 15th, 2017 at the age of 90 years. Alice leaves to cherish her memory her five children, Eddie Wahl, Ingrid (Andrew) Strange, David (Barb) Wahl, Doris (Robert) Salmaso and Alan (Bernadette) Wahl; eight grandchildren, Philip, Victoria, Elizabeth (Andrew), Travis, Jessica, Jesse, Georgia and Hunter; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Alice was predeceased by her husband, Emil; her parents, Gustav and Hulda Tonn; one brother, Edwin Tonn; and three sisters, Leokadia (Ted) Link, Natalie (Oscar) Link and Danida (Berthold) Sauder. Alice was born in the Ukraine on October 13th, 1927. She immigrated to Canada in 1948 and loved farming, gardening, reading and being a homemaker. Alice was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and Frauenverein (German Ladies’ Society). Her family would like to thank the caring staff at Leisure Way and 5W of the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital for their excellent care of Alice. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE on Wednesday from 7:00 until to 9:00 p.m., and at ST. PETER LUTHERAN CHURCH, 758 – 8th Street SE, on Thursday from 12:30 until 1:25 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at ST. PETER LUTHERAN CHURCH, on Thursday, December 21st, 2017 at 1:30 p.m. with Pastor Shane Hein officiating. Interment will follow in the family plot at Hillside Cemetery.
