Veronica Deck of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Joseph Deck, passed away on Thursday, December 14th, 2017 at the age of 86 years. Veronica leaves to cherish her memory four children, Geraldine Holmes, Charlotte (Stanley) Eresman, Clarence Deck (Mary Haberlack), and Joanne (Larry) Schneider; eleven grandchildren, David (Kathryn) Holmes, Shari Brenner, Renee (Kaj) Andersen, Melissa (Jess) McEvoy, Dustin (Chandra) Eresman, Bobby (Amanda) Deck, Brendon (Heather) Deck, Jolene (Frank) Perrault, Shawna (Kyle) Kanewischer, Tanya Schneider, and Darcy (Stephanie) Schneider; fifteen great-grandchildren, Taylor (Chelsey) Watts, Shaunda (Reid Britnell) Watts, Ashley Holmes, Mitchell Brenner, Quinn Holmes, Karina Andersen, Katya Andersen, Ivan Eresman, Cyler Eresman, Chase Deck, Brooklyn Deck, Luc Perrault, Ryden Perrault, Isabelle Perrault, Coen Kanewischer, and Torin Kanewischer; three brothers, Frank Meier, John Meier and Philip (Janet) Meier; one sister, Caroline (Philip) Bosch; sister-in-law, Shirley Meier; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Veronica was predeceased by her husband, Joe; her parents, John and Genevieve Meier; one son, Peter Deck, in infancy; one daughter, Mary Deck, in infancy; two brothers, Adam Meier and Joe Meier; two sisters, Barbara Andreas and Jane Andruschak; one sister-in-law, Frances Meier; and one brother-in-law, Clem Andreas. Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be said at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Wednesday, December 20th, 2017 at 7:00 p.m. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at HOLY FAMILY PARISH, 1451 Strachan Road SE, on Thursday, December 21st, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Philip Le, Celebrant. A private interment will take place at Hillside Cemetery.
