1928 ~ JOHN “JACK” SLOAN ~ 2018

John Joseph “Jack” Sloan (also known as Grandpa Jack), beloved husband of Elsie Sloan, of Medicine Hat passed away on Tuesday, January 23rd, 2018 at the age of 90 years. Jack leaves behind his wife, Elsie; one daughter, Kathy Pilgaard; and one granddaughter, Jennifer Pilgaard (Doug Anderson). Jack was predeceased by his parents, Jack and Kathleen Sloan; one brother, Jim (Joan) Sloan; and one sister, Kathleen “Kay” (Jim) McCarty. Jack spent many years as a pastor with the Salvation Army and will be missed for his Irish subtle wit. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff of 5West at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital for the wonderful care Jack received. The funeral service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, #1 Dunmore Road SE, on Monday, January 29th, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. with Captain’s Ron and Joyce MacDonald officiating. Interment will take place at Saamis Prairie View Cemetery.
