June 19, 1937 – April 3, 2018

Mrs. Muriel Desrochers passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Tuesday, April 3, 2018, at the age of 80 years. Muriel leaves to cherish her memory: sons, Randall (Wanita) Desrochers and Terry Desrochers; daughter, Shelly (Ray) Scherger; grandchildren, Dion (Candice) and their children Gianna and Maxime; Devin, Desiree (Matt) and their daughter Rome; Juston (Mia), Brianne (Aaron), Jaycene and Janessa. She was predeceased by her husband, Leopold Desrochers in 1999. Muriel married the love of her life, Leo, on July 21, 1956, in Edmonton. They moved to Medicine Hat in 1959, where they made their home. She was employed at the post office, Black’s Hardware Store and at Dr. Dan McCharles Auxilary Hospital for 24 years where she worked as a nursing aide. Her co-workers and patients at the hospital found her to be caring and compassionate with an infectious laugh that would identify her in any crowd. Leo and Muriel had a wide circle of friends and family and enjoyed entertaining, dancing, music, sports, golf and camping. In honour of Muriel’s wishes, a Private Graveside Service will be held at Hillside Cemetery.
