LILY GOSSELIN
Posted: May 8th, 2018Lily Gosselin (nee Edvardson), beloved wife of the late, Kenneth Arthur Gosselin passed away in St. Albert, Alberta on Tuesday, May 1, 2018, at the age of 90 years. She was born on December 27, 1927, in Medicine Hat and raised on the family farm. Lily married the love of her life, Kenneth Gosselin in Medicine Hat, on April 17, 1951, and shared 61 years of wedded bliss together. She worked for many years as a nursing assistant in Calgary. Lily was a very passionate, loving and caring woman who always put the needs of others above her own. She always took pride in her baking, garden and flowers, especially her roses. Lily enjoyed many happy hours playing cards with Ken and their children. Following their retirement, Ken and Lily embarked on a month long dream vacation to Alaska. She was always so proud of the Gold Nugget she got while panning for gold. Raising her six children was Lily’s greatest joy. She enjoyed being a stay at home mom watching her children grow up. Lily was known as the ‘General’ by all who loved her. She will be forever remembered in the hearts of her children; Delphine (Perley) MacDonald, Barry Gosselin, Larry Gosselin, Brenda Macaulay, Lloyd Gosselin; grandchildren, Leanne McKay and Tammy MacDonald. Lily was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth Gosselin; parents, Torsten and Gustava Edvardson; son, Bruce Gosselin; son-in-law, Kerry Macaulay as well as three sisters and four brothers. Lily’s life will be celebrated with a Graveside Service at Hillside Cemetery, Medicine Hat, Alberta on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at 2:00 p.m., with Life Celebrant Gerry Getz officiating. Those wishing to attend are invited to gather at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat before 1:50 P.m., to join in the procession to the cemetery.
