It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of our loving father, Alden Henry Wegwitz. Dad was born June 20, 1935 near Wishart, Sk & passed away April 28, 2018 with loved ones by his side. He passed away due to complications of Alzheimer’s. Dad leaves to mourn his loss, wife Catherine; daughters Lorie, Arlene & Dorinda; brother Leonard (Kathy); brother in law Wilfred Taylor, grandchildren Steven, Stephanie, Tyler, Kaylene, Linzee & Karly; 7 great grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews who were very fond of Uncle Al!
Dad was pre-deceased by newborn twins Paul & Andrew in 1967; granddaughter Annette Marie Russell; parents Paul and Alice; brothers Gordon, Henry and sister Irene Taylor as well as father-in-law, Andrew Doll.
Dad was a selfless man of faith, a loyal and loving husband and father. He enjoyed spending time with loved ones always engaging in sing songs and would often surprise us with funny tunes from years ago or silly songs like Pop Goes the Weasel! Dad also loved to hear and sing worship songs about his Lord & Savior, Jesus Christ. He had a God given self taught talent of playing both the accordion and guitar. He was a well respected man of many trades, working as a ticketed mechanic, body man, carpenter and labourer. We will forever miss dad’s jolly spirit and will cherish our time spent with him.
Dad was laid to rest on May 2, 2018 at Hillside Cemetery

I knew the Wegwitz family back in 1974. Al always treated me fairly and put up with my nonsense. He was a good man
