MARGARET LORAN

1925 ~ 2018

It is with heavy hearts that family announce the passing of their dear mother, Margaret Katherine Loran, beloved wife of the late, Adam Loran on Monday, July 2, 2018, at the age of 93 years. Margaret was born in Prelate, SK., on February 20, 1925, and attended Wayne Valley School. She married the love of her life, Adam Mathias Loran in Lancer, SK., on October 9, 1944. Margaret’s devotion to her catholic faith was evident in the raising of her family and the love she shared with everyone. As a homemaker, Margaret enjoyed cooking for family gatherings, and worked outside the home as a meat packer. She enjoyed crocheting, sewing, playing cards, bingo and watching all sports on TV, especially curling. Margaret was particularily fond of her dog, Sandy. Left to cherish her memory are her children, Bill (Carol-Leah) Loran, Elinor (Fred) Regner, Bev (Ray) Francis, Leonard (Lori) Loran, Terry (Terrance) Sawchuk, Pat (Gord) Brayton, Kathy (Les) Meyer, 41 grandchildren, 54 great- grandchildren and eight great-great-grandchildren as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Margaret was predeceased by her parents, David and Anna Marie Lanz; husband, Adam; son, Richard; granddaughter, Paula and son-in-law, Stu. A Celebration of Margaret’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Tuesday, July 10, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Father Philip Le celebrant.
