June 22, 1923 (Hamborn, Germany) –

August 24, 2018 (Medicine Hat, Alberta)

Waltraut “Wally” Sayler (nee Kern) passed on to be with her dear Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ at the age of 95 years on August 24, 2018. She is lovingly remembered by her husband, Benny; their two daughters and their husbands, Jacquie and Paul Noerenberg (Hilda) and Jennifer and Rudy Schinschick (Calgary); as well as two grandchildren, Mark Noerenberg and Juliette Noerenberg. Her memory is also cherished by two brothers, Ted (Ellie) Kern and Fred (Gladys) Kern; and three sisters, Christel (Gerd) Voelske, Elsie Machell and Terry LeMaitre; as well as many nieces and nephews. Wally had a very full life; first in Germany and then in Canada. She enjoyed a medical career, beginning as a midwife and then a nurse. She left this behind when she met her sweetheart, Benny, and moved to the family farm near Hilda. There Wally became an industrious farm wife, working tirelessly and enjoying many farm, church and community activities. She was always full of energy and loved to have family and friends around her at any time. After retirement, Wally and Ben moved to Hilda and then to Medicine Hat and continued to enjoy visitors and South Country friends and staff. The family of Wally Sayler would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the Havenview staff for their excellent care and dedication. The Funeral Service will be held at Wuerfel Auditorium, 1720 Bell Street SW, on Wednesday, August 29, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. with Reverend Bob Findley officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts in Wally’s memory may be made to South Country Village, 1720 Bell Street SW, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 5G1.
