1919 ~ MARY SCHNELL ~ 2018

Mary Schnell of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late John Schnell, passed away peacefully with her family at her bedside on Saturday, September 8th, 2018 at the age of 99 years. Mary was born on March 20, 1919. She leaves to cherish her memory her two children, Rita (David) Wingenbach and Glen (Victoria) Schnell; seven grandchildren, Noel (Penita) Schnell, Kelly Schnell, Candace (Myron) Malowany, Clayton Wingenbach, Kristin (Neal) Jesperson, Sonia (Tony) Leahy, and Landyn Schnell; 10 great grandchildren, Tyler, Jessica, and Karli Schnell, Abagail Schnell, Nathan and Taryn Malowany, Cale and Troy Jesperson, Scarlet and John Leahy; along with several nieces and nephews. Mary is the youngest and the last surviving child of the Vincent and Barbara Schell family, who lived to be the oldest of all her siblings. She is predeceased by her parents; her husband, John; her son, Larry; her daughter-in-law, Sharyn; and her daughter-in-law, Laura. She is also predeceased by her three sisters, Margaret Schill, Magdalena Kuntz and Veronica Stroh; and two brothers, Tom Schell and Carl Schell. Mom shared her quick wit, sense of humor and generous spirit with everyone. Whenever she could share a joke or make someone laugh, she had achieved her goal for the day. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, on Thursday from 6:00 to 6:55 p.m, and at HOLY FAMILY PARISH, 1451 Strachan Road SE, on Friday from 9:00 to 9:55 a.m. The Funeral Service will be held at HOLY FAMILY PARISH on Friday, September 14th, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with Father Vijaya Bathineni officiating.
