1981~ ALEXANDER SMYTHE ~ 2018

Posted: September 24th, 2018

Alexander Forbes Smythe, the beloved son of Deborah Forbes and Calvin Smythe of Medicine Hat, passed away on Monday, September 18th, 2018 at the age of 37 years. Alexander also leaves to cherish his memory his children, Dominic and Ryker; as well as his sister, Zoe (Jacques); niece, Myriam; and grandmothers, Norma Campbell and Sally Forbes. He was predeceased by his grandfathers, Norman Smythe, Jack Forbes, and Alf Campbell. Alexander touched many lives. Some may remember him as the adventurer, the life of the party, the charismatic charmer who could make any girl blush. He was also the nerdy little boy who played the cello wearing an excavator decorated eye patch. Like many, he had his struggles, but he was always a loving father and will be genuinely remembered as a brave, caring, strong man who handled the last two years of his life with more grace than most of us could hope. A Memorial Service will be held at THE ESPLANADE, 2nd Floor Lobby, 401 – 1st Street SE, on Monday, October 1st, 2018 at 4:00 p.m. Condolences may be sent through www.saamis.com or to condolences@saamis.com subject heading Alexander Smythe.
