Kathleen was predeceased by her parents Ed and Florence Cooke, sister Doreen, as well as other extended family members.

Kathleen was born in Redcliff, AB in 1926 and joined the Women’s Royal Canadian Navy Service (WRENS) in 1944 as a supply assistant. Kathleen married Vernon Foss in 1954 in Redcliff and they lived in Winterburn, AB for two years and moved back to Redcliff. In 1966, the family moved to Bow Island, AB where she worked at the medical clinic for a number of years and they resided until retirement. After Vern’s passing in 2010, Kathleen moved to the Heartland Retirement Centre in Okotoks, AB in 2012 to be closer to family.

Throughout her life, Kathleen was faithfully dedicated to the United Church and actively participated in the choir, bells, youth group, Sunday school as well as the UCW. Kathleen was a volunteer with the Palliative Care Program and the Bow Island Pleasant View Lodge.

After moving to Okotoks, Kathleen remained active in the Heartland community participating with choir, bells and drama club. Kathleen looked forward to and enjoyed many of the “outings” organized by Heartland and continued her Sunday worship at the Okotoks United Church where she especially enjoyed the services conducted by Rev. Julia Kimmett. Our family is very grateful to the caring support she received from the Heartland staff and the members of the Okotoks United Church.

Kathleen enjoyed the company of family, frequent phone calls with her two sisters and sharing stories of her childhood. Mum, you will be greatly missed.
