Shirley belonged to a group of ladies called the Six Belles; a woman’s group that did everything together including bus tours, camping, sleep overs, dinners and countless games of cards. Shirley especially enjoyed holidays, family reunions and her 70th Birthday party. She was particularily proud of the fact that she went back to school at the age of 36 and received her high school diploma. Shirley’s memory will be forever treasured in the hearts of her children, Jim Elgie (Cheryl Higgins), Gord Elgie (Marsha Neigum), Lori (TJ) Yarrow; ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; siblings, Laverne (Dave) Sawatzky, Jean Ahlstrom, Sharon Kerkhoff, Millie Archer (Henry Jurgens); sisters-in-law, Marion (Bill) Beetstra, Pat Miller, Evelyn (Marcus) Coneys, Shirley (Paul) Gow, Judy Elgie and brother-in-law, Cliff Elgie as well as numerous nieces, nephews and best friend, Patty Franzen.
