DON SCOTT

1952 ~ 2019

Donald Mitchell Scott, beloved husband of Verna (nee Brodin), passed away at St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice on Sunday, July 21, 2019, at the age of 66 years. Along with Verna, Don leaves to cherish his memory his children, Catherine Scott (Les Muhlbeier), Stuart (Lisa) Scott; grandchildren, Adyson and Easton; sister, Valerie (Dave) Luyten; brother, Doug (Rita) Scott as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Don grew up on Riverside exploring the river and playing hockey at the local rink. As he got older, he enjoyed working alongside his dad at S.F. Scott MFG. In 1975, he married Verna and they later became parents to Catherine and Stuart. Don took great pride in building the family business each day. On weekends, he loved hunting, fishing and gardening, but most of all, spending time with his family. In recent years, he cherished his time on the farm and the community around him. Don enjoyed making people laugh and touched everyone with his generosity and kindness. He will be dearly missed and remembered forever. The Celebration of Don’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, July 26, 2019, at 3:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations to the St. Joseph’s Home – Carmel Hospice are greatly appreciated.
