William Anson, beloved husband of Lorrine Anson passed away in Calgary on Monday, August 19, 2019 at the age of 87 years. Besides his loving wife of 67 years, he is survived by his son Donald, grandchildren Chelsea, Brett, Nicole, Paul, and sister Margaret Leonard. Bill was predeceased by his son Douglas Anson, parents William and Florence Anson and sister Gladys Hurlbert.

Bill was born and raised in Medicine Hat, Alberta. The family moved to Ralston, Alberta when he was offered a position with the Defense Research Establishment Suffield. An assignment he really enjoyed while working with the DRES was to travel to Hawaii where he worked on military ships. His career took the family to Calgary in 1968 where he worked as a technician for the University of Calgary in the Mechanical Engineering Department until his retirement. He was fortunate to be able to retire early, and was still very interested in keeping busy, so he worked in tax preparation and obtained his real estate license. Once in full retirement, Bill and Lorrine spent many winters in Arizona with friends and enjoyed their summers in Calgary in their RV at Country Lane Estates. Bill was a devoted caregiver for many years to Lorrine and Doug.

A Celebration of Bill’s of Life will be held on Thursday, August 29, 2019 at Eden Brook Funeral Home (17Ave S.w and Lower Springbank Rd) at 2:00 pm.
