August 2, 1931 ~ March 27, 2020

Johnny Haupt was born on August 2, 1931, in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan and passed away peacefully with his loving wife by his side on Friday, March 27, 2020, at the Good Samaritan Home in Medicine Hat at the age of 88 years John’s family moved to the Murraydale district and then to Kealy Springs where he started school. They then settled in the Star Butte district north of Eastend, Saskatchewan. He met his sweetheart, Ardis Borman at the Beef Club achievement day. On December 6, 1957, they were married at the St. Mary’s Anglican Church in Maple Creek and had their dance at Star Butte School. In 1961, they bought their farm near Seven Persons on the open prairie with the creek running through it. They worked very hard to establish their farm. The family is forever grateful for the beautiful home and farm that they built for their family. In 1967, they had a son Steven and in 1968, a daughter Stephanie. Dad loved his family, his farm and his animals. He was a wonderful husband, father, father in law and grandfather! He had strong farmer hands with a talent for wood work, and gentle hands to hold his grandchildren. In 2013, with health issues looming, mom and dad moved to the city but returned home for two summers until they no longer could be independent in their home. They have resided at the Good Samaritan for the past three years where the staff has become family and treated them very well. The family will always be thankful for the love and compassion they have shown. John leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Ardis; children, Steve (Tracy) Haupt and their children Paige (Jayson) and Cody; Stephanie (Jim Richmond) and their children Tiffany, Samantha (Brandon) and their little one’s Cole and Tyson; brother, Ed (Orchid) and his daughter, Nicole; sister, Delores and her daughters, Rachel and Lora and their families as well as a niece and nephews, Eric Harrison, Nancy Lyster, Kevin Harrison and Tracy Harrison and their families. John was predeceased by his brother, Leo. At this time the family would like to thank everyone for taking the time to call, visit or inquire about John and Ardis. If you find a few minutes in your day, a phone call can really brighten a senior’s day.

‘Rest in peace dad and thank you for all you have taught us and done for us.’
