June 14, 1966 ~ June 1, 2020

Mr. Gregory Ian Boyd, beloved husband of the late Pamela Boyd, passed away in Medicine Hat on Monday, June 1, 2020, at the age of 53 years. Greg was born in Victoria, B.C., raised and educated in North Battleford, SK. Following high school, he went on to live and work in Saskatoon, SK., for the next number of years. There he met his wife, Pamela Daniels and where they started their family together. Greg worked in the construction industry throughout his life, in particular at Goldland Construction in Brooks, AB. Greg loved his job and the people he worked with who became like family to him. As his mom’s health declined, he moved to Medicine Hat to look after her. Following her passing, he did lawn care and enjoyed spending time with his friends. Greg stayed connected to his native heritage by making dream catchers, beading, painting shields and smudging. He loved fishing, going for walks and always had a good story to tell about all his adventures. His memory will be forever treasured in the hearts of his birth father, Ernest Rice; children, Steve, Brandon, Benjamin, Shelley, James and Gregory Jr; grandchildren, Arlo, Braylean and Hayden; siblings, Clifford Whitford, Walter (Heather) Whitford and Sandra Whitford as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Greg was predeceased by his wife, Pamela Daniels; step-son, Derek Daniels; daughter, Ellen Boyd; step-father, Walter Whitford and mother, Georgina Whitford. A Celebration of Greg’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Thursday, June 11, 2020 at 10:00 a.m. Due to restrictions in place regarding COVID – 19 from the Chief Medical Officer of Health – funeral services are limited to no more than 50 attendees including family and funeral home staff.
