ANDREAS

Posted: June 26th, 2020

It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of Allan Jerome Andreas on June 20, 2020, 8 days before his 62nd birthday. He passed comfortably in his home, during his sleep. He leaves to cherish his memory: his beloved wife, Barb, of almost 40 years; his eldest daughter Amy (Chris) Woodcock and their children Emmett and Lily; and his younger daughter Nicole (Mindy) Brown and their daughter Honor; his brothers and sisters; friends and extended family.

Born in Leader, SK, Allan lived his entire life on the family farm and began farming with his dad in 1977. He also operated a carpentry business and World’s Best Strings, which enabled him to meet people from all over the world. Meticulous in everything he crafted, Allan made strings, completed building projects, built and sprayed cupboards, and seeded, sprayed and harvested his crop. His motto was to work smarter, not harder.

Allan was generous – with his time, his energy, his talents, and his knowledge. His example encouraged us all to help one another. He had a true gift for finding common ground with everyone he met. His archery buddies nicknamed him “the Walmart Greeter.”

He enjoyed camping, traveling and playing on his Bobcat. Farming was his passion and he was precise in every aspect of it. He was an amazing handyman and finish carpenter.

Allan was a role model who was selfless, successful, hard-working, loving, patient, humble, and kind. He was an upbeat and happy person, who always made time for his daughters and grandchildren.

Allan will be missed by everyone who knew him.

The memorial service will be live streamed on the Little Flower Catholic Church Facebook page on Saturday, June 27, 2020 at 2:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in memory of Allan to the Blumenfeld Heritage Site, https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/blumenfeld-and-district-heritage-site/. Binkley’s Funeral Service, Maple Creek & Leader entrusted with arrangements. Condolence may be offered to the family at binkleysfuneralservice.com
