On Tuesday, June 23, 2020, at the age of 88 years, Martin Prins was welcomed home by his Lord and Savior. Beloved husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Martin will be dearly remembered by his beloved wife of 62 years, Netty; his four children, Marian (Dick), Marty (Jacqueline), Helen (John) and Travis (Catherine); grandchildren, Steffen (Emily), Stacey (Nathan), Jessica (Tyler), Meghan, Erica, Jaime, Lauren (Brad), Amy, Erin, Jonah, Eliana and seven great-grandchildren. Martin also leaves behind his brother, Casey as well as his three sisters, Maria VanderKwaak, Rene Thompson and Jenny (Casey) Stigter. Martin was predeceased by three brothers, Huibert, Janus and Arnold. The family would like to express their sincere thanks to the staff at The Good Samaritan Society for their kind and compassionate care. A Celebration of Martin’s life will be held at the Christian Reformed Church, 300 Primrose Drive S.E., Medicine Hat on Tuesday, June 30, 2020, at 11:00 a.m. with Pastor George Koopmans officiating. Due to restrictions in place regarding COVID – 19 from the Chief Medical Officer of Health – funeral services are now limited to no more than 100 attendees including family and funeral home staff. The service will also be live-streamed and can be accessed at medicinehatcrc.org.
