It is with heavy hearts that the family of Rosemarie Louise Kat announce her passing at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Thursday, August 27, 2020, at the age of 63 years. Left to cherish Rosemarie’s memory is her daughter, Jennifer Kat; siblings, Stanley Harris Jr., Robert (Sandra) Harris, David (Cyranne) Harris, Joseph (Carole) Harris, Herbert Harris and Laura (Harry) Hancock as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, aunts and uncles. She was predeceased by her parents, Stanley Harris Sr. and Janet Harris as well as her brother, Matthew Harris. Rosemarie was born on July 3, 1957, in Port Colborne, Ontario. She moved to Medicine Hat in 1976 after attending the Dewitt Carter Academy in her home town of Port Colborne. Rosemarie was a strong advocate for herself and others and had a powerful bond with all members of her family. She enjoyed all types of music, mediums of art, shopping, lady bugs and cats. The Calgary Flames and the Saskatchewan Roughriders were the sports teams that Rosemarie enjoyed watching the most. She served on the committee at CORE – Restrictive Procedures Board and was a member of the All Saints Anglican Church. Some of Rosemarie’s most memorable moments of her life were the birth of her daughter, getting married and attending her baby sister’s wedding. Her greatest achievements were graduating from the sewing group, animal therapy, SRSAN member and being a CORE Masters member through CORE. Her great attitude, awesome sense of humour and optimistic attitude towards life made Rosemarie a joy to be around. A celebration of Rosemarie’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 – 13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Friday, September 11, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. with Murray Jaster officiating.     Rose was such a blessing. Her smile always lit up the room and her jokes always kept me laughing. Getting to know her at CORE and her home on McKenzie Cres. I will never the memories of getting to know her. Rose was a true inspiration.
