December 2, 1978 ~ October 16, 2020

It is with great sadness that the family of Allen James Kaupp announce his passing on Friday, October 16, 2020. Allen is survived by his wife, Roseanne and sons, Creston and Roane. Also grieving his loss are his parents, Joan and Jim Kaupp; siblings, Celeste (Doug) Murphy, Cameron (Crista Kolter) Kaupp, Kenton (Jackie Fry) Kaupp, Galen (Erin) Kaupp, Olivia (Steven) Blair; numerous nieces and nephews as well as many extended family members and friends. Allen was born in Fort McMurray and moved with his family to Medicine Hat at the age of three. After graduating from McCoy High School, he received training as an Emergency Medical Technician and worked in that capacity for a number of years in Alberta and the Northwest Territories. He then settled in Redcliff with Rosie and their young family. Allen also worked in the oil and gas industry and later on as a truck driver. In addition, he also served as a Volunteer Firefighter with the Redcliff and Box Springs Fire Departments. Allen and Rosie were fond of adventure and that included a love of travel. Some destinations were Southeast Asia, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Cuba, Eastern Europe, Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica. Allen had a unique sense of humour which he loved to combine with his talent for writing. Everyone was soundly entertained with his stories of travel adventures and a highlight was when his siblings were being “roasted” at their wedding reception. He was an enthusiast of the outdoors and his favourite activities included family camping trips, fishing, and hunting. He was also quite creative with his barbeque and smoker. One of his latest quests was to continue to master his fly rod and to get his boys excited about fly fishing as well. Rest Peacefully, Allen, in Jesus’ comforting embrace. The Funeral Mass will be a private family celebration at Holy Family Parish with Fr. Rodel Abanto, celebrant with Allen’s uncle, Deacon Roger Reilander assisting. Interment will follow at Hillside Cemetery. If friends so desire, memorial donations in Allen’s name may be made directly to the Canadian Mental Health Association, 204 – 1865 Dunmore Road S.E., Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 1Z8. Sorry to hear about Allen. He was one of the best students I had taught over the years. Such a great personality with a wonderful smile. God Bless

  3. John Jones says:

Allen volunteered consistently through The Salvation Army Hot Meal Program for years, serving those in need. He took time to talk with guests, comforting them by showing the true love of Jesus Christ. His reflection of Christ’s love impacted all that God led in his path. I know this, Allen is in Heaven resting in the arm’s of God. I know this because of Christ’s words: “When you’ve done it unto the least of these, you’ve done it unto me”. We’ll see you again soon Allen.
