1932 ~ EVELYN TRIEBER ~ 2020

Evelyn Marion “Ev” Trieber of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late William Trieber, passed away on Tuesday, October 20th, 2020 at the age of 87 years. Evelyn leaves to cherish her memory her son, Wayne (Karen); daughter, Delphine (Bob) Rinehart; grandchildren, Jacqueline (Sam) Willcocks, Jason Trieber and his mother, Kathy Trieber; Jolene (Trevor) Warburton, Bryce (Laura) Jans, Gerritt (Ashley) Jans and father, Dale Jans, Brad (Kristin) Schaal, and Kira (Aaron) Doyle; great-grandchildren, Oliver Willcocks, Lilly Willcocks, Tenly Warburton, Tripp Warburton, Kyptan Jans, Kaelyn Jans, Kolt Jans, Lewis Schaal, Capri Schaal, Masen Jans, Emeree Jans, and Penelope Doyle; sister, Helen Turner, sister-in-law, Elsie Gomke, Bill’s sisters-in-law, Wilma Neish, Margaret Martin, Annabelle Treiber, and Joe (Lori) McFadsen. Evelyn was predeceased by her husband, William, parents, Reinhold and Charlotte Gomke; brothers, Edward (Clara), Clarence, William, and one brother in infancy; sisters, Hilda (Mike) Plotsky, Olga (Albert) Roth, Esther (Emanuel) Roth, Alice (Albert) March, and Margaret March. Evelyn married her late husband William “Bill” Trieber on March 08th 1952. They moved onto the Trieber family farm house after Bill’s parents retired where they farmed and raised their two children. In the early 1960’s, when highway 41 was being built, Evelyn was enlisted to provide cooking and board for crews of up to 17 men, all while tending the farm and children. Her delicious cooking and baking will be sorely missed. She was also an accomplished seamstress whose talents where much in demand by her close knit family and greater community. She enjoyed fishing, RVing, travelling, playing cards, curling and quilting. She also loved spending time with her family and caring for those in need. She was a member of the oil wives club and various quilting groups. Evelyn lived a full, adventurous life and is ready to be reunited with the party crew in heaven made up of her many friends, siblings and beloved husband. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1 Dunmore Road SE Medicine Hat, AB T1A 1Z5, on Thursday, October 22nd, 2020 from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm and at Victory Lutheran Church, 2793 Southview Drive SE Medicine Hat, AB T1B 2H1, on Friday, October 23rd, 2020 from 10:00 am to 10:50 am. The Funeral Service will be held at Victory Lutheran Church, 2793 Southview Drive SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1B 2H1, on Friday, October 23rd, 2020 at 11:00 am with Pastor Jim Bredeson officiating.     I curled against Ev and I believe Helen Krassman in our younger yrs and they were a tough team to beat . When Ev moved to town I used to quilt with her . She was a lovely upbeat lady and we had lots of laughs . She will be missed . My condolences to the family
