1938 ~ Heide Rose Schneider ~ 2020

Heide Rose Schneider of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Ronald Schneider, passed away on Thursday, November 5th, 2020 at the age of 82 years. Heide leaves to cherish her memory her children, Don Schneider (Rosemarie Begg), Kevin Schneider, and Pamela Schneider (Gerry Tessman); grandchildren, Alisha (Cory) , Elizabeth, Madison, Adam, Caleb, and Jared; great-grandchildren, Bentley and Brooklyn; brother-in-law, Ed Schneider; sisters-in-law, Shirley Rieger and Margaret Brackenbury; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Ronald; parents, Carl and Hertha Horn; brother, Peter Horn; daughter-in-law, Theresa Schneider; brothers-in-law, Herb (Chrissy) Snyder, Ken Rieger, Howard Brackenbury, and Mervin (Irene) Snyder; and sister-in-law, Virginia (Paul) Stedel. Heide immigrated from Germany on October 15, 1957 to work as a Nanny. She was a dedicated and hard worker and thus had many jobs over the years including the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital, Dom Glass, and H&R Delicatessen. She was entrepreneurial in spirit and was employed and owned Flavor Crisp Chicken as well as a house cleaner in later years. In her earlier years she was an avid bowler and she also enjoyed gardening and taking long walks. Heide excelled in many arts and crafts, including ceramics, painting, knitting, and crocheting. She was known to many as “the scarf and toque lady”; she would donate her scarves and toques to the Redcliff library and Town Hall as well as anyone who she might come across that looked like they might be cold. She will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved her. A celebration of Heide’s life will take place at a later date.
