1958 ~ 2020

Bruce Frederick ‘Rick’ Dawson passed away suddenly in a motor vehicle accident near Medicine Hat on Wednesday, November 4, 2020, at the age of 62 years. Rick will be lovingly remembered by his daughter, Candice (Dylan); step-children, Pamela, Victoria (Brett) and Joshua (Nichole); numerous grandchildren; sister, Cheri (Mike) and their children, Layne (Sharon), Charmayne and Chantel (Dakota); cousins, Jim (Karen) and Carol (Nigel) as well as his aunt, Betty. Rick was predeceased by his wife, Kathy and his parents, Bruce and Doreen. Rick grew up in Buffalo and Empress and after his father passed away, Rick and his mother, Doreen moved to the farm in Seven Persons. He never considered farming work as it was something he loved to do. Rick loved life on the farm and moving cattle, he even named some of his cows. He also had a love for playing hockey and riding his motocross dirtbike. Rick’s love of traveling with family and friends to exotic locations as well as trips to the States to sell Brangus, were some of his most memorable trips. Rick could fix anything and everything as he never liked to throw anything away. The one trait that Rick will be most remembered for was that he was always late! Due to COVID 19 restrictions, the service will be by invitation only. The Celebration of Rick’s life will be held at the Seven Persons Community Hall on Wednesday, November 11, 2020, at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Maury McNeil officiating.
