Eva Findlay of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Telford Findlay, passed away on Monday, November 9th, 2020 at the age of 99 years. Eva leaves to cherish her memory her children, Colleen (Clarence) Haaf, Colette (Murray) Mayer, and Merlin (Pat) Findlay; grandchildren, Matt (Laura) Haaf, Jessica (Clay) Montoya and Kristopher Mayer; great-grandchildren, Kingston and Grayson Haaf and Nova and Clove Montoya; brother, Otto Schäfer; sister, Alma Zerr; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Eva was predeceased by her husband, Telford, parents, Christian and Ludwica Schäfer; four brothers; and two sisters. A private family graveside will take place on Monday, November 16th, 2020 at Hillside Cemetery with Deacon Terry Olson officiating. Mom was very devoted to her family. Her Grandchildren and later Great grandchildren brought her special joy. She spent countless hours in her garden tending her flowers and raspberries. She was an exceptional cook and her cabbage rolls and buns were family favorites. Mom also enjoyed sewing and we all cherish the beautiful quilts she made. For the past few years Mom was a resident at Riverview care center. She was often found roaming the halls in her wheelchair checking on everyone. Mom was well cared for there. She loved all her “girls” and they loved her back. Mom your bright blue eyes, feisty spirit and beautiful smile will be missed by all.
