May 2, 1926 ~ November 11, 2020

Katrina was born in Drumheller, AB to Harry and Marie (Ewasiuk) Kobewka. Marie passed away from pneumonia when Katrina was 2 1/2 years old. Aunts and Uncles helped look after Katrina and her brother Steve until Harry remarried. He married Mary (Kachulak) and they had a daughter named Laura. The family moved to Coleman in 1942. Katrina moved to Blairmore in 1952 with her first husband Jim Reid and their three children. Jim and Max Brown built the Sleepee Teepee Motel there and the three of them, along with Max’s wife, operated the business until Katrina and family moved to Medicine Hat in 1957. Katrina worked in retail over the next 30 years, often as a manager and also as a clothing model on CHAT TV. She was a fabulous cook (Oh! That flapper pie!). She taught herself to sew beautifully. She was a whiz at Canasta. Her warm sense of humour and loving personality will be sadly missed. Family was always #1 to her. Katrina was predeceased by her birth mother, Marie; her father, Harry; step-mother, Mary; her first husband, Jim; two sons, Daniel and Arnie Reid; her second husband, Hugh McLellan. She is survived by her daughter, Laurie Reid-Brown; daughter-in-law, Sally (Arnie) Reid; two grandchildren, Christine Hauck (Leon), Michael (Jamie) Reid and Mandy Reid; two great grandchildren, Mila and Sonya; step-sister, Laura (Stauffer). In honour of Katrina’s memory donations may be made to Core Association 412 – 3rd Street SE Medicine Hat, AB T1A 0H1.
