PAUL CHAPMAN

February 16th, 1958 – January 14th, 2021

With heavy hearts and great sorrow, the family of Paul Bernard Chapman wish to announce his sudden passing on Thursday, the 14th of January, 2021. Born in Amherst, Nova Scotia Paul had a great childhood growing up in Canada’s Ocean playground with his brothers and sisters. He moved to Alberta at the young age of 18, where eventually he met his future wife, Fay, and together they raised a family, primarily between Redcliff and Camrose. Paul was a fun-loving guy whose heart was as big as his laugh. He could make any situation funny and people were just drawn to him because he was warm, open and always ready to share his mostly ‘inappropriate’ humour. He loved his Pepsi, his Oilers, his junk food and anyone who knew him would also know that the animals in his life always came first. He will be sadly missed by all who knew him and he leaves to cherish him, his wife of 34 years, Fay Chapman; Daughter, Angela (Neil) Kew; Sons, John (Melody) Astika, Chance (Cassandra) Chapman and Randy (Camille) Chapman. He was also otherwise known as ‘Big Paul’ to his grandchildren, Mae, Ben, Lylah, Alexis, Savannah, Annalise, Josh, Briony, Alex and Willow. He also leaves behind brothers, Ron, Billy, Andy and sister, Marg as well as many nieces and nephews. Paul is predeceased by his Mother, Jantina; his Father, Arnold; a grandson, Finn; as well as his sister, Marilyn, who will surely have met him at the pearly gates with a whiskey in her hand. Most importantly, Paul will be reunited with Luke, Minnie-Mouse, Foxy, Simba and numerous mama kitties!

Abraham Lincoln said

“And in the end, it’s not the years in a life, it’s the life in the years”

Paul’s life is a testament to this quote as he lived every one of his nine lives to the very fullest.
