1939 ~ JACOB KRAUSE ~ 2021

Jacob Krause of Medicine Hat, beloved partner of Jeanette Frey, passed away on Sunday, March 7th, 2021 at the age of 81 years. Jacob leaves to cherish his memory, Jeanette; children, Steve (Tammy) Krause and their daughter, Natasha of Medicine Hat and Laura (Michael) Flette of Red Deer; brother, Hugo Krause; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Special mention to his niece Sherri and her husband Burt Skuban and their boys Chris and Sheldon who helped Jake out so many times over the years on the ranch and held a special place in his heart. Jacob was predeceased by his parents Jacob and Bertha Krause and one brother Ossie. Jacob was born in Medicine Hat and grew up on the family farm south of Medicine Hat in the Robinson coulee area. He started ranching south of Suffield on the Hays road as a bachelor where he stayed until 1972 when he relocated the operation with his family to south of Dunmore. Jacob enjoyed hunting and fishing, and will miss being able to go fishing with his good friend Wilbur Bohnet, but his true passion was being on the ranch watching the cattle from his chair with his binoculars and tracking their calving progress. He lived his life the rancher way and passed his skills to his son, Steve, who will continue to ranch on the place. He will be sadly missed by all those who knew him. A private memorial service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 1Z5, on Saturday, March 13th, 2021 at 11:00 am with Gary W. Goran officiating. Interment will follow at SAAMIS PRAIRIE VIEW CEMETERY.
