1965 – PHILIP ANTHONY DAVIES – 2021

Posted: August 6th, 2021

Philip Anthony Davies of Medicine Hat passed away suddenly on Friday, July 30th, 2021 at the age of 55 years. Second son of Bette Pearson Huff and the late George Davies. Phil will be forever remembered by his daughter, Megan and her mother Susan; his mother Bette; four brothers, Scott (Suzanne), Bob (Neacail), Geordie (Lorna), Neil (Leslie); as well as many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many close friends. Throughout Phil’s life he was involved in many things. As a young man he served as an Altar boy at St. Dominic Savio Church; he enjoyed hockey, playing at the arcade, and participating in track and field. He graduated high school and worked a variety of jobs, including retail, truck driving for various companies, oil field in a variety of capacities, until he found his calling as a Salesman at which he excelled and several years ago started his own cleaning supply business. Phil loved to travel. His first major trip was to Australia with his brother Bob. Many family trips followed to various places such as Hawaii, California, Orlando and Niagara Falls. Phil enjoyed many hunting and fishing adventures with his buddies. He had a passion for camping, whether it be in the RV with his family, or roughing it in the wilderness at an archery shoot he loved every minute of it. Another passion was riding his motorcycle. Many road trips were taken with his brother Neil. To anyone’s home Phil visited, he was put on BBQ duty as he was a self-proclaimed master barbequer. YouTube became an instruction manual as there wasn’t a task he was afraid to tackle, and one of those tasks was working on the family vehicles as the backyard mechanic. Phil was very family oriented and a great friend to many. We will all miss him deeply and pray he is in a much better place. Rest in peace. The Funeral Service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE Medicine Hat, AB T1A 1Z5, on Saturday, August 7th, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Reverend Jim Bredeson officiating.
