1930 ~ HEDWIG ROFLIK ~ 2021

Hedwig (Hedy) Roflik, formally of Regina, Saskatchewan, passed away peacefully on August 3rd 2021, at the Good Samaritan Southridge Village in Medicine Hat. She was predeceased by her parents John and Erna Will; her husband, Vince in 2002; her grandson, Brian Roflik; step-grandson, Ludek Roflik in 2016; brothers, Emil and Ewald Will; and sister, Frieda Will. Hedy will be lovingly remembered by her sons, John (Linda) of Medicine Hat Alberta and Rob (Christine) of Regina Saskatchewan; stepson, Vlastimil (Sdenka) of the Czech Republic; grandchildren, Heather (Josh), Marcus and Carter; step-grandson, Vlasta; great-grandchild, Felix; step-great grandchildren, Jacob, Vaclav, Vlastik, and Eliska; her sister, Ida Bitzer, and brother John, Will; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family. Hedy was born in a German enclave in Poland on April 11, 1930. Her family lost everything during the Second World War. As the eldest sibling, Hedy helped her mom with the family when they fled Poland to Germany in 1945. Hedy immigrated to Canada with her mom and siblings in 1948, followed by her dad in 1949. She married Vince on June 29, 1957. She worked at the Regina General Hospital prior to raising her family. After her sons were grown she returned to work at the Regina Hospital Laundry. She was selfless and enjoyed giving back to her friends, family and community. She was a long-time member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Regina. Her family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for the excellent care she received from her care team while residing at the Good Samaritan Village. A private family graveside service will take place at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery in Regina.
