James Nolan Schmidt of Medicine Hat passed away on Saturday, August 21st, 2021 at the age of 37 years. James leaves to cherish his memory his parents, Kim and Jim Schmidt; sisters, Tara (Doug) Critchlow and their children, Cole and Taylor, Alicia Schmidt (Chris), Brittney Schmidt (Jason); brothers, Travis Unger and his children Brandon and Devon, and Ryan Unger (Kerri) and their son, Finlay; grandparents, Betty Oerlemans (Melvin) and David Prawdzik; special cousin, Wally Prawdzik; as well as numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. James hobbies included cooking and spending time with his cats, Lucee, Cindee, Wendee, Smokee, and Babee; that he adored. His sense of humour was infectious and his imagination, bountiful, filled with dreams and new ideas. He cherished the time he spent with his family and could light up a room with his smile! If you were lucky enough to know him – James was a truly delightful, generous, easy-going, fun- loving human being and he will be deeply missed by all those that knew and loved him. A Celebration of James’ Life will take place at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL on Saturday, August 28th, 2021 at 2:00 pm with Life Celebrant Lynett Getz officiating.
