HAROLD MAY

It is with a heavy heart that Connie announces that her beloved husband, Harold George May, passed away at the Medicine Hat Regional Hospital on Friday, September 3, 2021, at the age of 70 years. Along with Connie, Harold will be lovingly remembered by their children, Wendy (Pat) Furlong, Scott (Line) May and Corey (Brandi) May; grandchildren, Rachel and Emma Furlong; McKenzie Trent and Reece, Emily and Jayla May; siblings, Garry May, Gail (Lorn) Cook, Gayle May, Marilyn (Ray) Cradduck and Colleen (Monty) Kunz; brothers-in-law, Ross (Shanon) Anderson and Terry Anderson as well as his sister-in-law, Andrea Anderson (Randy Rota). Harold was predeceased by his parents, Walter and Norma May; brother, Garth; brother-in-law, Robert; sister-in-law, Leona May as well as parents-in-law, Melvin and Rachel Anderson. Harold was born, raised and educated in Taber, AB. In his younger years, he could be found on the ice as he also played hockey in Taber. Harold married Connie Anderson on August 25, 1973, in Barnwell and they made Lethbridge their home for many years. Harold started his career at Ireco Irrigation in 1971 and then worked for Oliver Irrigation before buying the store in Medicine Hat in 1993. After he bought the store, he changed it to C&H Irrigation. Harold recently retired celebrating 50 years working in irrigation! He was a hard worker who liked to play tricks and make up stories for his grandkids. Playing cards with his friends and grandkids while adjusting the rules was one of Harold’s favourite pastimes! He also enjoyed golf, hunting, traveling, camping and special trips with the boys to golf and to watch Corey’s football games. You could always find Harold watching golf and WWE wrestling on TV after a hard days work. He was a strong supporter of 4-H clubs and stood behind all that they believed in. Harold’s most memorable occasions were a family trip to Turks & Caicos and celebrating his and Connie’s 48th wedding anniversary. He will be deeply missed! A Celebration of Harold’s life will be held at Cook Southland Funeral Chapel, 901 -13 Street S.W., Medicine Hat on Thursday, September 9, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. with Bruce Hill officiating. A private interment will follow at the Barnwell Cemetery.
