VIOLET “LYNN” GOURLAY

1956 ~ 2021

Violet “Lynn” Gourlay of Medicine Hat, passed away on Tuesday, August 17th, 2021 at the age of 65 years. Lynn leaves to cherish her memory her children, Kelley Gourlay, Brent Gourlay, and Michael (Shiela) Gourlay; grandchildren, Maralynn Sasse, Kelvin King, Robert Gourlay, Stephanie Gourlay and David Gourlay; brothers; sisters-in-law; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Harold Gourlay; parents, Arthur and Maizie Hillis; brother, Gerry Hillis; brother, Glen Hillis and his wife, Mary and their son, Darrell Hillis; sister, Anne and her husband, Frank Schreiner; sister-in-law, Jackie and her son, Jim Hillis; sister-in-law, Bernice Hillis; and nephew, Rick Hillis. She claimed to be a gypsy at heart and loved to travel. She finally settled in Chemainus on Vancouver Island as a business owner before moving to Medicine Hat in 1993. She was always up for a competitive game of canasta and enjoyed teaching people to play. There will be no formal service at this time.
