1947 ~ 2021

It is with extremely heavy hearts that we announce that John Robert (Bob) Opsahl, beloved husband to Marie; father to Tina (Tim) and Todd (Stacy); grandfather to Shelby (Drew), Spencer (Chloe), Peyton (Brayden) and Cameron; brother, Rick (Deb) and sister, Jacky, was called home into the arms of the angels. Bob was predeceased by his parents, Arnold and Mary Opsahl; Dave and Mabel Shaw; and brother in law, Gary. Bob and Marie were married on March 16, 1968 in Elrose, Saskatchewan and just celebrated their 53rd anniversary. Bob was a heavy duty mechanic then later a truck driver and loved his wood working. He played all sports and later was an avid Rough Rider, Mavericks, Blue Jays and Tiger fan. One of his new loves was watching his great grandson, Wyatt and always being on the lookout to buy him more activity toys even a little Radio Flyer. Bob loved to shop. He had such a big heart, if someone needed one thing, (two or more), would be better or your sidewalk cleared he was there. There wasn’t a holiday he didn’t decorate for. Bob will be starting a new adventure in Heaven while we on earth remember the love he shared with us all. There will no funeral service at this time. Memorial gifts in Bob’s name may be made to the Mustard Seed, 503A Allowance Ave SE, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 3E4. Condolences may be sent to condolences@saamis.com subject heading Bob Opsahl.
