1971 ~ 2021

“Some people only walk this earth for a short time. Their departure reminds us that angels are watching over us.” The family of Tracy Marlaine Thorne of Medicine Hat are deeply saddened to announce that on Wednesday, September 22nd, she unexpectedly rejoined her heavenly family and gained her wings at the age of 50 years. Tracy leaves to cherish her memory her soul mate, Dean Davenport; children, Diandra (Thomas) Liepert, Derick Thorne, Sherridan Thorne, Trey Davenport, and Jaxon Davenport; stepchildren, Travis (Kianna) Davenport, Tyler (Shawna) Davenport, Victoria Davenport and Katherine Davenport (Justin); grandchildren, Jason, Jordan, Alice, Maci, Ava, Paisley, Dierks, Gunner, Prysm, Ethan, and Kinsley; sister, Autumn (John) Bairaktaris; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Tracy was predeceased by her parents, Fred and Arlene Thorne. Tracy was born in Newfoundland in 1971. She came to Alberta with her parents as a young girl. In 2005, she met the love of her life, Dean. It was love at first sight, and she supported his efforts every step of the way. Together, they had two children, Trey and Jaxon. They raised their combined family together in the spirit of love, kindness, and togetherness. The simplest pleasures in life brought Tracy great joy. She was an exceptional wife and mother and she cared very deeply for her family and friends. She did this not out of obligation, but because of who she was. She always ensured that every child who crossed her threshold was safe, healthy, and happy. Tracy especially loved being a grandmother and truly saved her best hugs for her grandchildren. She will be deeply missed and held in the hearts of all those who knew and loved here. Those wishing to pay their respects may do so at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB on Tuesday, September 28th, 2021 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. While Tracy’s family grieves their loss, they are choosing to remember her in a way that honours her spirit. A private Funeral Service will be held at SAAMIS MEMORIAL FUNERAL CHAPEL on Wednesday, September 29th, 2021 at 1:30 P.M. with Pastor Shane Hein officiating.
