1933 ~ GERALD TAILLEFER ~ 2021

Gerald Allan Taillefer of Medicine Hat, beloved husband of the late Ottilie Taillefer, passed away on Friday, October 8th, 2021 at the age of 87 years. Gerald leaves to cherish his memory his children, Marlin Taillefer (Sherry Haggerty), Melanie (Darcy) Fischer, Sherry Zdril, Jim Sherburne, Patricia Dick, and Sandy-Jo Lewis; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; brother, Donald Wentzell; sister, Valerie Souza; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Gerald was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Emily Taillefer and son, Mark Taillefer. Gerald enjoyed a good round of golf, but his favorite pastime was playing cribbage. He spent many years perfecting his crib game and could be found playing regularly at tournaments in Redcliff. Gerald was always there to help those in need. He was a volunteer member of the Alberta Council on Aging and was also an honourary lifetime member of the Medicine Hat Oilmen’s Association. Above all else, Gerald cherished his family and the time that he was able to spend with them. He is described as nothing but kind, loving, caring, warm, and wonderful. He will be missed more than words can say. There will be no formal service at this time. The family will honour Gerald in the spring with a graveside service at Redcliff Cemetery.
