1949 – 2021

The family of Alfred “Alf” Belyea are saddened to announce his passing at the age of 72 years.

They want to celebrate the life of a hard-working, kind and dedicated family man.

He leaves to mourn his memory, his wife, Deborah; daughters, Trina, Robyn (Korey) and Jodi (Jason); grandchildren, Bryce, Sabin, Landon, Aeris, Amalia; sisters, Lillian and Eunice.

Alf was predeceased by his parents, Arthur and Lillian; sister, Florence.

Alf was born in Preeceville, SK and raised in Trail, BC.

Alf was an infinitely kind and dedicated father and family man. He started working for M & B on Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands), in the 1960’s and became skilled in almost every aspect of road construction. Later on, his family moved to Ontario, where he took on a road foreman position. They toughed it out for 4 years before returning “home” to Port Clements back on Haida Gwaii (Queen Charlotte Islands). He was a road foreman for many years before expanding his already abundant amount of knowledge to take on the position of public works manager for the town of Port Clements. When his three daughters moved away, his wife and him started their new chapter and moved to Maple Creek, SK for retirement; only to move to Alberta a few years later. He was a steward of his community, serving as a Cypress County Councillor for Suffield for the past six years.

He loved helping people, and people loved him in return.

He deeply loved his family, especially his wife of more than 50 years, and his three daughters. His family of five were his world. He was always beyond excited to spend time with his grandchildren and always had time to listen and teach them things. He enjoyed fishing, darts, pool, and golfing with friends. There wasn’t anything Alf wouldn’t do for someone in need. If there was a chance to volunteer to better an experience for kids or his community, he was always the first to do so.

There will not be a funeral service. Condolences may be made at www.gracememorial.com or emailed to alfbelyea21@gmail.com. Donations may be made to your local SPCA in Alf’s memory. Arrangements are made by
