1941 – BARBARA GOLDADE – 2021

Barbara Magdalena Goldade of Medicine Hat, passed away on Monday, December 13, 2021 at the age of 80 years, beloved wife of the late Simon Goldade. She leaves to cherish her memory three children, Shane (Fran) and their children Sandy, Nathan, Carly (her children Halle and Jason), Cassie (Mike), Trisha (Derick, their son Reef); Scott (Teresa) and his son Braden (Amanda and their son Benjamin); Jody (Nicole) and their children Savannah (Brendyn, their children Wyatt, Annabeth and Michael), Hailey (Ryan), Bradley (Cari, their children Hayven and Payslee); two brothers, Jack (Peggy) Riedlinger, Cleo (Crystal) Riedlinger; two sisters, Rosanne Closs, Gloria Battyanie; sisters-in-law, Barbara (Walter) Eresman, Peggy Goldade, Thelma Goldade and brother-in-law Peter Clauss as well as numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Edith and Arthur Riedlinger; her husband Simon on September 26, 2013, and one sister Diana Clauss. Barbara was born on January 3, 1941 in Prelate, Saskatchewan. She married Simon on June 20, 1959, in Medicine Hat where they raised their family. She was devoted to her husband, children, and grandchildren; enjoying family gatherings and going to any sporting event to watch her grandchildren. Her family was her life. If you knew Barb, you knew about her Strudels. At anytime, if anyone in her family needed an ear, she was always there to listen. A graveside service will take place at Hillside Cemetery on Thursday, December 16, 2021, at 2:00 p.m. Those who wish to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the Columbarium (turn right inside the gate) at 1:45 p.m. If you wish to remember Barbara with a donation, you may do so to A.J.’s Loan Cupboard (Alan Joys Memorial Fund Society) Box 45006, McKenzie Postal Outlet, Medicine Hat, AB T1A 7H3 or to the Medicine Hat and District Health Foundation (specify funds to be allocated to the Renal Clinic).     Scott and family, I’m so sad to hear about Barb. It was always a pleasure to see her at the aquafit classes at Crestwood Pool. A lovely woman and she will be missed.
