Irma was predeceased by her parents, Jacob and Luise Janzen and her sister, Elsie Zacharias. Irma was born on January 10th, 1928 in Harris, SK. She met Ernie as a young woman and they were married on December 28th, 1948, in Rosemary, AB. Within a few years they moved and homesteaded to the Seven Persons area where they raised their family. Their farm became a hub for family, friends and church gatherings. Family and friends were Irma’s passion and delight. She especially loved babies and was thrilled by visits with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. A loving mother, grandmother and homemaker, she was a marvelous cook, a great hostess, as well as a skilled guitar player. She frequently filled the home with the sound of music. Irma loved holidays and was especially fond of Christmas. In her later years, as she found more time, Irma enjoyed gardening and was pleased to be able to cultivate and nurture her own orchids. During the last passing years of her life, Irma would have wonderful moments of brightness and clarity and was able to still receive joy from the simpler pleasures in life. She relished all the moments made available to her and was pleased with such modest things as a simple ice cream cone. Irma will be greatly missed by all those who knew and loved her. Thanks to the caring staff at Riverview Care Center. They became a second family to Irma and Ernie. The family is very grateful to everyone there who played such an important role in the last five years of Irma‘s life.
