PETER WAYNE HINTZ

1957 – 2022

On January 21st, 2022, Peter Wayne Hintz left our world peacefully with his twin brother, John – the person he arrived with, by his side. Nearby were his beloved wife of 39 years, Pam; his daughter, Kelsea (Brad) and granddaughter, Ryan; his brother’s wife, Lori. Many other members of his family were with him in his last days. He was predeceased by his parents, John and Nellie Hintz.

Pete loved nothing more than to craft in his garage or home office, sipping on coffee and eating cookies until early hours of the morning. The sounds of rock music and him playing along by ear were constant in his home. Warm summer days where he could tend to his koi pond, trim his rose bushes and spend time in the backyard were what he lived for. When the weather turned cold, he looked forward to his annual trip to Maui. He was a lifelong learner, a tinkerer, a jack of all trades (and master of many), and he drank his wine from a champagne flute… he was down to earth. He loved a good hamburger and to crack jokes even if they were at his own expense. Those who knew Peter: pour yourself a rum and Coke in his honour. That’s what he would have wanted.

A special thank you to Peter’s sister-in-law, Angie for being not just a sister, but a rock, a confidant, and most importantly a friend to his wife in Peter’s final weeks. Thank you is not enough.

To the doctors and nurses at Margery E. Yuill Cancer Center, and the pharmacists of SE Hill Rexall – we appreciate your friendship during such a difficult journey. A special thank you to all of the staff of St. Josephs home for their incredible ability to brighten our spirits even on our hardest days.
